THE THIRD ANNUAL RANDOM ACTS OF KINDNESS CAMPAIGN
Please donate to ensure that no child misses out on lunches, field trips, and other school activities due to their family or financial situation.
Every day, Kent County Public Schools staff are faced with tough decisions about how to cover costs for students who do not qualify for government subsidies but still struggle financially. With four out of five of our schools having high poverty levels (over 60% of students qualifying for free or reduced lunches), many students would fall through the cracks without assistance. In the past, principals and teachers have found ways to cover these students, sometimes even using money from their own pockets. The Random Acts campaign hopes to fill in those gaps so that our principals and teachers do not need to.
“Random Acts of Kindness Day” is celebrated on February 17th. SOS is encouraging all students and community members to practice random acts of kindness. In 2017 and 2018 the campaign raised over $9000 that was equally divided among all of our local public schools.
